• Car

  If you're traveling by car within Northern Province, start by heading towards the town of Kasama. From Kasama, take the T2 road and head southwest towards the town of Mporokoso. Continue on the T2 for approximately 100 kilometers until you reach the junction at Mporokoso. Here, take the road towards Nyambwezu, which is marked by local signage. Follow this road for about 30 kilometers. Keep an eye out for additional signs directing you to Nyambwezu Falls, as the road can be less traveled. Ensure you have a GPS or a reliable map, as some areas may not have clear directions.

• Public Transport

  For those using public transport, you will first need to get to Kasama. There are several bus services operating between major towns and Kasama. Once in Kasama, look for local minibuses or shared taxis heading to Mporokoso. Inform the driver that you wish to go to Nyambwezu Falls, as they might know the best drop-off point. After reaching Mporokoso, you may need to hire a local taxi or find a motorcycle taxi (boda-boda) that can take you to Nyambwezu Falls, which is about 30 kilometers away. Be prepared for possible negotiation on the fare with the motorcycle taxi drivers.

• Walking

  If you are near the Nyambwezu area and wish to trek to the Falls, ensure you have a local guide or maps available. The trek can be challenging, and it is advisable to start early in the morning. From the nearest village, follow the marked trails leading to Nyambwezu Falls. Always stay hydrated and wear appropriate footwear, as the terrain can be rugged.
