Ask at your accommodation for the nearest shuttle service to the Luangwa River. Costs can vary, but expect to pay around $10-$20 per person, depending on the distance and demand. Ensure that the shuttle stops at the riverbank or a nearby viewpoint.

• Walking

  For the adventurous, walking to the Luangwa River from a nearby lodge is an option if permitted. Always check with your lodge about safety and guidelines for walking. If allowed, follow the main paths and trails towards the river, which can take about 1-2 hours depending on your starting point. Be cautious of wildlife and ensure you are in a group for safety.
