Car
If you are driving, start from Livingstone, the most common base for tourists in Southern Province. Head northeast on the A8 road towards Mazabuka. After approximately 120 km, take the turnoff towards Chishimba Falls, which is located near the town of Ndola. Follow the signs to the falls. The road can be bumpy, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. The total journey will take around 2 to 3 hours depending on road conditions.
Public Transportation
To reach Chishimba Falls using public transport, take a bus or a minibus from Livingstone to Mazabuka. The fare is relatively inexpensive and the journey will take about 2 to 3 hours. Once you arrive in Mazabuka, you can hire a taxi to take you to Chishimba Falls, which is approximately 20 km away. Ensure you negotiate the taxi fare beforehand to avoid any misunderstandings.
Walking
If you are already in Ndola, you can walk to the falls from the nearest bus stop. It is about a 5 km walk from the city center to Chishimba Falls. Follow the main road heading north and look for signs pointing towards the falls. Be cautious as the area can be busy with traffic.
Local Guide Services
Consider hiring a local guide who can arrange transportation for you and provide insights about the area. This can be particularly useful if you're unfamiliar with the region. Prices vary, so it’s a good idea to discuss and agree on costs upfront.
