Car
If you're traveling by car within the Zambezi Basin, start by heading towards the nearest major town, which is Siavonga. From Siavonga, take the road southwest towards the Zambezi River, following signs for Mvuu Lodge. Continue along the riverbank road until you reach the lodge at coordinates -15.7654104, 29.2190837. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for unpaved roads, as the last few kilometers may be rugged. Note that parking is available at the lodge.
Public Transportation
For public transportation, take a bus from Lusaka to Siavonga. Buses leave frequently from Lusaka's main bus station, and the journey takes about 2-3 hours, costing approximately 50 ZMW. Upon arrival in Siavonga, look for local taxis or shared minibuses that can take you the remaining distance to Mvuu Lodge. Confirm the fare with the driver before departing, as prices can vary, but expect to pay around 100 ZMW for the taxi ride. Make sure to have cash on hand for all transport.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, consider hiring a taxi from Siavonga. Taxis can be found at the bus station or can be booked through your accommodation. Negotiate the fare before getting in. The trip to Mvuu Lodge will take about 30 minutes and should cost approximately 200-300 ZMW depending on your negotiation skills.
