If you are driving, start from Lusaka, the capital of Zambia. Head east on the Great East Road (T4) towards Chipata. After approximately 60 kilometers, look for signs towards Chongwe River. You will turn off onto the Chongwe River Road (a gravel road). Follow this road for about 20 kilometers until you reach the river. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for gravel roads, and keep an eye out for wildlife along the way.

To reach Chongwe River via public transportation, take a bus from Lusaka to Chongwe. Buses frequently leave from Lusaka's Intercity Bus Terminal. The fare is approximately 50 ZMW (Zambian Kwacha). Once you arrive at Chongwe, you can either hire a taxi or find a local guide to take you to the river, which is roughly 10 kilometers from the bus drop-off point.
