Getting There

Car

If you are driving to Kariba Dam, start from Lusaka. Take the Great East Road (A3) heading east for approximately 130 km until you reach the town of Chirundu. From Chirundu, follow the signs to Siavonga, which is about 30 km further. Once in Siavonga, follow the road signs towards Kariba Dam and you will reach the dam located at FQH6+5M3. Be prepared for a possible entry fee for the dam area, which is usually around ZMW 50.
Public Transportation

To reach Kariba Dam via public transportation from Lusaka, head to the Intercity Bus Terminal and catch a bus to Siavonga. The journey takes about 3-4 hours and costs approximately ZMW 100. Once in Siavonga, you can hire a taxi or a motorbike taxi (locally known as a 'boda-boda') to take you to Kariba Dam, which is around 10 km from the bus station.
