Car
If you're traveling by car, start from Livingstone, a popular entry point to the Zambezi Basin. Head north on the A8 road towards Lusaka for about 10 km. Turn right onto the Zambezi Road (A33) and continue for approximately 50 km until you reach the junction with the Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. Follow the signs to Mutanda. After another 30 km, you will arrive at the village of Mutanda. The Mutanda Falls are located at J65V+MRM, just a short drive from the village center.
Public Transportation
For public transportation, take a bus from Livingstone to Lusaka at the main bus station. Buses leave frequently, and the journey takes about 6 hours. Upon reaching Lusaka, you can take another bus to the town of Mutanda. The bus ride may take an additional 4-5 hours. Make sure to confirm with the driver or conductor about stopping at Mutanda Falls, as not all buses may go directly there. The fare for the bus from Livingstone to Lusaka is approximately ZMW 150, and from Lusaka to Mutanda, it will be around ZMW 100.
Taxi
Once in Mutanda, you may need to hire a local taxi to reach Mutanda Falls. Taxis are available in the village, and you can negotiate the fare, which typically ranges from ZMW 50 to ZMW 100 depending on the distance from the village center to the falls. Ensure you agree on the price before starting your journey.
Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and are already in the village of Mutanda, you can walk to Mutanda Falls. The falls are approximately 3 km from the village center. Follow the dirt path leading northeast towards the river. The walk will take about 30-40 minutes, and it's a great way to experience the local scenery and culture.
