Getting there

Car

To reach Matobo Hills from Great Zimbabwe National Monument by car, start by exiting the park and head west toward the A4 highway. Once on the A4, continue for about 30 kilometers until you reach the town of Masvingo. At the Masvingo junction, take the turnoff to the left towards the A6 highway. Drive along the A6 for approximately 200 kilometers until you reach the town of Bulawayo. From Bulawayo, follow signs to Matobo Hills, which is about 35 kilometers south of the city center. The entrance to Matobo Hills is well-marked, and you can park at designated areas.

Public Transportation

To travel to Matobo Hills by public transportation, first take a taxi or a bus from Great Zimbabwe National Monument to Masvingo. Buses leave regularly from the main terminal in Masvingo. Once you arrive in Masvingo, transfer to a bus heading towards Bulawayo. Upon reaching Bulawayo, you will need to take a local taxi or a minibus to reach Matobo Hills, which is approximately 35 kilometers away. Ensure to confirm with the driver that they can drop you off at Matobo Hills, or arrange for a taxi to take you there from the bus station. Be prepared for potential costs, as public transport fares vary.
