Local know-how to help you travel smarter and make the most of every moment.
Car
If you are driving from Chimanimani village, take the tarred road heading towards the Chimanimani National Park entrance. After entering the park, continue on the main road for about 20 kilometers. Look for signs directing you towards Peterhouse Falls. The falls are located approximately 5 kilometers off the main road; you'll need to take a dirt track leading to the falls. Parking is available near the entrance to the walking path that leads to the falls.
Public Transportation
To reach Peterhouse Falls using public transportation, take a shared taxi or minibus from Chimanimani village towards the park entrance. Once at the park entrance, you can either walk or hire a local guide to take you to the falls. The walk from the entrance to the falls is approximately 5 kilometers along a dirt path, so good walking shoes are recommended. Ensure you agree on the fare with the shared taxi driver before departing, as prices can vary.
Hiking
If you are adventurous and enjoy hiking, you can trek to Peterhouse Falls from the main road. Start from the main park road, head towards the designated hiking trails. The trail is moderately difficult and will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the falls. Ensure you have sufficient water and snacks, and inform someone about your hiking plans for safety.
