Car
If you are driving from the center of Great Dyke, head south on the main road towards the Harare-Bulawayo Highway (A5). Continue on this highway for about 15 kilometers until you reach the turnoff to the Great Dyke Mountain Pass. Look for signs indicating the pass. Turn right and follow the gravel road for approximately 5 kilometers. The last stretch may require a 4x4 vehicle due to uneven terrain.
Public Transportation
To reach Great Dyke Mountain Pass via public transport, start by taking a shared taxi (commonly known as 'kombis') from Great Dyke town center to Gweru. This ride typically costs around $2-3. Once you arrive in Gweru, look for another 'kombis' heading towards the Great Dyke area. The fare should be approximately $1-2. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the turnoff for Great Dyke Mountain Pass. After that, you may need to walk or arrange a local taxi to cover the remaining 5 kilometers to the pass.
Bicycle
For the adventurous cyclist, you can ride from Great Dyke to Great Dyke Mountain Pass. Start from the town center and head south towards the Harare-Bulawayo Highway (A5). The ride is about 20 kilometers with some uphill sections, so prepare accordingly. Make sure to wear a helmet and bring water. Once you reach the highway, follow the same route as cars, turning onto the gravel road when you find the sign for the pass.
