If you are traveling by private car within Hwange National Park, head towards the main road that connects to Gamba Pool. From the main entrance of Hwange National Park, follow the signs towards the Gokwe Road (A8). Continue on this road for approximately 35 kilometers. Look out for the signs indicating Gamba Pool, which will guide you onto a dirt road leading to the pool. The final stretch is about 5 kilometers of unpaved road, so be prepared for a bumpy ride. Ensure your vehicle has enough fuel as there are no refueling stations nearby.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take a shared taxi or minibus heading towards the Hwange town from Victoria Falls or Bulawayo. Inform the driver that you wish to get off at the Hwange National Park entrance. From the entrance, you will need to hire a local guide or taxi to take you to Gamba Pool. The distance from the entrance to Gamba Pool is about 40 kilometers, and the cost for this taxi ride should be negotiated in advance, typically costing around $30-$50 USD. Make sure to confirm the return journey as well.
