Getting There

• Bus

  From Hwange, head to the Hwange Main Camp bus terminal. Look for a bus heading towards Chinhoyi. The bus ride will take approximately 2-3 hours. Make sure to inform the bus driver that you want to get off at Chinhoyi. Once you arrive at the Chinhoyi bus terminal, you will need to take a local taxi or find a shared taxi to take you to Chinhoyi Caves, which is about 10 km from the terminal. The taxi ride should take around 15-20 minutes.

• Shared Taxi

  If you prefer to take a shared taxi from Hwange, head to the main road and look for shared taxis heading towards Chinhoyi. These taxis are a common form of transport in Zimbabwe. Share the taxi with other passengers, and inform the driver of your destination. The ride to Chinhoyi will take about 2-3 hours, depending on the number of stops. Once you arrive at the Chinhoyi taxi rank, you can take another local taxi to Chinhoyi Caves, which is approximately 10 km away.

• Walking

  If you are adventurous and physically fit, you can walk the entire distance from Hwange to Chinhoyi. This would involve taking the A1 highway towards Chinhoyi. Be cautious as the highway may have traffic. The distance is roughly 120 km, and it could take you more than a day to walk, depending on your pace. It is highly recommended to arrange for accommodation or a safe spot to rest during your journey.
