Car
If you're traveling by car, head towards the town of Bindura from Harare, which is approximately 90 km away. From Bindura, continue on the A14 highway towards Mt. Darwin. After about 30 km, look for signs directing you to Umfurudzi Safari Area. The entrance to Umfurudzi will be on your right. Note that the roads may be unpaved and rough, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended. Be prepared for entrance fees at the gate, typically around $5 per person.
Public Transport
To reach Umfurudzi using public transport, take a kombi (shared taxi) from Harare to Bindura. The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Bindura, you may need to hire a taxi to take you to Umfurudzi, as public transport does not go directly to the safari area. The taxi ride will usually cost around $10-$15. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your journey. Once at the entrance of Umfurudzi, be prepared to pay the park entrance fee, which is typically around $5 per person.
