Car
If you are driving from Harare, take the A5 highway towards Chinhoyi. Continue on the A5 for about 130 km (approximately 1.5 hours). Look for the Mazvikadei Dam signs as you approach the town of Mazowe. Once you see the signs, turn off onto the B2 road and follow the signs directing you to Mazvikadei Dam. The dam is located about 10 km from the B2. Ensure you have a good map or GPS as some road signs may be limited.

Public Transportation
To reach Mazvikadei Dam via public transport, board a bus from Harare to Chinhoyi. Buses frequently leave from the Mbare Musika bus terminal. The fare is approximately $5-10. Once you arrive in Chinhoyi, you can hire a taxi or look for a shared commuter taxi heading towards Mazowe. The taxi fare from Chinhoyi to Mazvikadei is about $10-15. Make sure to confirm with the driver that they are heading to Mazvikadei Dam.

Combination (Car and Walking)
If you have access to a car but are not comfortable driving the entire way, you can take a taxi or commuter bus from Harare to Chinhoyi and then rent a local taxi to take you to Mazvikadei Dam. Once you reach the dam area, be prepared to walk around as some sites may require you to explore on foot. Be aware of your surroundings and ensure you have water and sunscreen as it can get hot.
