Once you reach Karoi, turn onto the Binga Road (also known as the R1), and continue for about 50 kilometers until you reach the junction with the Dete Road. Take a left turn onto the Dete Road and drive for approximately 30 kilometers. After this, you will need to take a right turn onto a dirt road leading to Sapi Private Reserve. Follow the signs to Tembo Plains Camp, which will be clearly marked along this route. Depending on the condition of the roads, it may take an additional 30-60 minutes to reach the camp from the main road. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain, as some sections may be challenging.
Public Transport
For those using public transport, take a bus from Harare to Karoi. The journey usually takes around 3-4 hours, costing approximately $10-15 USD depending on the bus company. Once in Karoi, hire a taxi or a local shared minibus (commonly referred to as 'kombis') to take you to Sapi Private Reserve.
