Walking
From the center of Masvingo, head east on Robert Mugabe Road towards the intersection with Avenue A. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with the A4 highway. Here, you may find local guides or bicycles for hire that can take you closer to the ruins. If you choose to walk, continue along the A4 highway for approximately 7 kilometers. Look for signage indicating the Central Valley Ruins. As you approach, you will see local landmarks such as the Great Zimbabwe Monument on your right, which is a prominent landmark in the area. When you reach the PWHP+QM coordinates, look for the entry point to the ruins.
Public Transport (Minibus)
Start at the main bus terminus in Masvingo, located on the corner of Robert Mugabe Road and Avenue A. Take a minibus heading towards the Great Zimbabwe area. The fare is usually inexpensive, and the journey will take around 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. Inform the driver that you want to stop near Central Valley Ruins. Once the minibus stops, you may need to walk a short distance of about 1 km towards the ruins, following local signage or asking locals for directions.
Bicycle Rental
Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Masvingo. Head east on Robert Mugabe Road, turning onto the A4 highway. The ride towards Central Valley Ruins will take about 30-40 minutes depending on your speed. Be sure to follow the signs for the ruins and stay on the main road. As you cycle, enjoy the surroundings and keep an eye out for local wildlife. Once you reach the PWHP+QM coordinates, lock up your bike and explore the ruins on foot.
