    My dad and I had an amazing time fishing in Halifax. Our guide, Jake, is awesome. He took great care of the two of us and the other five guests. He knew all of the best fishing spots and talked to us all about Halifax and Nova Scotia, which we really enjoyed. We caught many, many fish and two members of our group caught huge cod! We really enjoyed our time and it was amazing to be so close to Halifax yet seemingly so far out on the water. My dad and I recommend this trip 100%, particularly for the fisher who doesn't like to get "fishy" as Jake took care of all of the dirty work and we had such a great time! Thanks so much!

    It was my first time fishing and I caught 4 fish. So fun! The guide was great, the boat was not crowded (6 people in total) and we all caught fish.

    The morning was so much fun and Carter was amazing! He was very personable and knowledgeable of the species and where to go to drop our lines for the results! My son caught the biggest cod and I caught the one and only rockfish!

    This had potential to be a good fishing experience. But when we arrived, the fishing boat was full and 8 of us (pre-booked) were added to another boat. A few negatives that added up: 1) The boat we had was not a fishing boat. It's the high-speed ones with 12 seats you see in the pictures. it's not conducive for fishing, You can barely stand in order to move around or hold your rod. 2) The captain didn't say a word when we come on the boat - didn't introduce himself, no instructions, no descriptions of anything. Our 2 kids were given life jackets, adults were not (though there were emergency ones under your seat). 3) The captain was not prepared with all the tools - we had to grab pliers and some paper towels from another boat in the middle of the ocean. Thankfully I had some paper towels as well. 4) Did he have enough rods? Not even sure about that. My daughter and I were not offered any (though we didn't ask because she was still getting over how fast the boat went). 5) Speed of boat - fine for adults - not great for younger kids. A heads up at the start would have been good. Length of time, etc. Not a word. And he certainly didn't adjust his speed even though she was scared and crying. We caught some cod which was nice. But it really wasn't an experience. It very much felt like it was a transaction. Paid way too much for that. I wouldn't recommend. Though I'm sure the actual fishing boat group had a better experience.

    Great fishing trip. Went to 3 hotspots just outside the harbour. Nonstop action, caught around 30 fish in 2 hrs. 4 different species with one cod weighing at least 15 lbs. A quick trip back through Eastern Passage gave me some great ideas for future endeavours. If you get sea sick don’t forget to take gravol or something the night before. The price was totally worth the trip, as I’ve spent a lot more for a lot less action. Friendly staff and a very nice boat.
