Excellent e-bike rental experience! Easy online rental, bikes were ready when we arrived. Zach gave us a complete orientation to the bikes. We’ve rented here several times and always great service. The e-bikes are easy to use. Then we had a fantastic ride on the gorgeous paved coastal trail through Lover’s Point down to Asilomar. Monterey Bay is stunning clear and deep blue with sea lions barking, otters right offshore, and pelicans soaring by.

My wife and I really enjoyed our experience at the Cannery Row Big Sur Adventures e-bike rental location. The online reservation process was quick and easy. The staff gave off a chill vibe; when it was time to get our operation instructions though, they were focused and professional. They were totally accommodating with respect to moving up our start time at the last minute because we were early. The bikes were great, and we only needed two hours to see all we wanted to see, so next time we will do two hours, and then if we go over we will be charged $10 more. This is a must if you want to see a lot without having to drive; worth every penny. Be ready for pedestrians to be rude path hogs, because this is the Age of Entitlement.

Absolutely loved the ebikes ride along the 17 mile drive. Excellent! The only slight negative was the lack of service in the shop. The 4 of us (all seniors) are not particularly tech savvy and it took us close to 15 minutes to fill out the necessary paperwork online (not easy for any of us) and figure out which bike helmet to use. The instructions from the shop person was “ they’re over there, just pick one out that fits.” He could have more easily just handed us helmets he knew we needed (size-wise), rather than realizing we just wanted to “get this show on the road,” and not the additional frustration trying on various helmets.
Then the second helper we were passed off to spoke so fast that we were left scratching our heads as to how to get started.
We could also have used water bottle holders on the bikes instead of the little Fanny pack-sized thing that was the only way to hold our extra items (sweaters, wallets, sunscreen, etc.).
We would definitely do this again, but we all decided next time we would probably try the competition down the street instead.
EXCEPT, the young girl in the the shop was SO SWEET and helpful… but it was time for her lunch break, and we got passed on to the guys. Still totally fun and we recommend doing it… just a couple of tweeks.
