What to expect
Old Town
On the way to the Citadel of Antibes, a historic fortress. Its construction began in 1565, during the reign of Charles IX, to protect the city from maritime attacks. The citadel has undergone numerous modifications and extensions over the centuries. The Citadel of Antibes offers a panoramic view of the city and the Mediterranean. THE PICASSO MUSEUM In 1920, Pablo Picasso arrived in Antibes to spend the summer and began painting in the Château Grimaldi, which became the famous Picasso museum. The museum houses one of the largest collections of paintings, sculptures, ceramics and drawings by the Spanish artist. The permanent collection includes more than 245 works by Picasso, ranging from 1919 to 1946. (entrance not included: 8 euros) After the guide's explanations you will have free time.
Head to Cannes for a photo stop in front of The Cannes International Film Festival is one of the most prestigious in the world. (No visit possible, the palace is closed to the public) The history of the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès de Cannes is closely linked to that of the Film Festival. Before the construction of a dedicated building, the first ceremonies took place in the old Cannes casino The inauguration of the new building will take place on 09/11/1949. This first will also be called Palais Croisette. It will be replaced in 1983 by a new palace, the roof of the old one having been torn off due to a violent storm towards the end of the Festival, The new and final palace will be built on the old casino and inaugurated in December 1982. It also hosts events such as the International Musical Publishing Market or MIPCOM or the NRJ Music Awards...
You would have free time to visit the Suquet district, which means “summit” in Provençal, and this name is not insignificant! Enjoy the Old Town of Cannes by strolling through this shady area which provides the much sought-after freshness during the hot summer days. Venture into the narrow, steep streets of the old town and browse the seasonal stalls. You could, if you wish, climb up to the Notre-Dame d’Espérance church and admire the most cinematic panorama of the city.
Inseparable from the Cannes identity, the Boulevard de la Croisette forms a long promenade lined with palm trees and pine trees. Reminiscent of the Promenade des Anglais in Nice. This sophisticated venue elegantly connects the beach and the city. While on one side there are fine sandy beaches, on the other there are numerous luxury brands, but also large hotels and palaces. You can't visit Cannes without strolling along the Croisette. This legendary walk runs along the bay of Cannes for three kilometers. Under the hot sun of the south of France, it forms a landscape worthy of a postcard.
A few kilometers from the Mediterranean Sea, perched on the Southern Alps, this small charming village benefits from an ideal geographical location for discovering the Côte d'Azur and spending a pleasant stay of relaxation and discovery. Saint-Paul de Vence is also recognized for its cultural and artistic note. This village is, thanks to the diversity of its art galleries, one of the meeting points for artistic souls. The small village of Saint-Paul de Vence will charm you from the moment you arrive with the conservation of its medieval side. The guide will introduce you to the village and you will have free time to stroll through the cobbled streets.
The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
