Plaza Catalunya is a centric square in Barcelona, one of the city's nerve centers. It has an area of 5 hectares. It constitutes the point of union between the old town of Barcelona and the Ensanche (one of the city's districts).

Paseo de Gracia is one of the main avenues in Barcelona. It's full of commercial and business areas; it also includes lots of important examples of Modernist Architecture, such as the Casa Batlló or la Pedrera by Antoni Gaudí, and other houses by great Catalan architects like Lluís Domènech i Montaner. These buildings are considered to be part of the World Heritage by the Unesco. The avenue is located in the center of Barcelona, the Ensanche, and it connects Plaza Cataluña with the Calle Mayor de Gracia to the west.

The Casa Lleó i Morera is a Modernist building built by the architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner. It's located in the number 35 in Paseo de Gracia.

The Casa Amatller is a Modernist building adjacent to the Casa Batlló and near the Casa Lleó i Morera. It was projected by the architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch between 1898 and 1900.

The Casa Batlló is a building designed by Antoni Gaudí, the greatest exponent modernist Catalan movement. The construction was between 1904 and 1906. It is located in the number 43 of Paseo de Gracia, in the named "Manzana de la Discordia" (literally "Apple of Discord"). This name was born due to the concentration of modernist buildings by different architects: la Casa Amatller, la Casa Lleó i Morera, la Casa Mulleras and la Casa Josefina Bonet.

The Casa Milà, commonly known as "La Pedrera" is a Modernist building by Antoni Gaudí, built between 1906 and 1910. It is one of the most visited buildings in Barcelona, with 20 million visitors since its opening to the public in 1987.

Plaza del Cinco de Oros, previously known as Plaza de Juan Carlos I, can be found in the Ensanche District. It is located in the intersection between the Diagonal Avenue and Paseo de Gracia.

The Sagrada Familia is a Catholic basilica projected by Antonio Gaudí. The construction began in 1882 and it is still under construction. It's considered Gaudí's masterpiece. One of Spain's main attractions and the most visited church in Europe, just after Saint Peter's Basilica in the Vatican. When its construction concludes, it will be the tallest christian church in the world.

The Hospital de la Santa Cruz y San Pablo, projected by Lluís Domènech i Montaner, is a modernist hospital. It was built between 1902 and 1930 in two phases: the first one by Domènech i Montaner himself (1902 - 1913), during which 13 modernist building were built; the second one, by the architect's son Pere, starting in 1920, who built 6 more buildings with a milder modernism. With its main building and its numerous pavilions, the Hospital de San Pablo is, with the Instituto Pere Mata in Reus (also by Domènech i Montaner), one of the greatest modernist complexes in Catalonia. Even though the original project was not built in its totality, its notoriety was recognized with a great number of prizes and it was even considered part of the World Heritage by the Unesco in 1997.

The Parque Güell is a public park with gardens and different architectural elements located in the upper part of the city of Barcelona. Conceived as a residential complex, the park was designed by Antoni Gaudí, the greatest exponent of Catalan Modernism, commissioned by the businessman Eusebi Güell. Built between 1900 and 1914, it was inaugurated as a public park in 1926. The Parque Güell shows Gaudí's artistic plenitude: this work belongs to his naturalist era (first decade of the XX Century), a period when the architect perfected his personal style inspired by the organic shapes of nature. In the Parque Güell, Gaudí used all of his architecural genious and put into practice a lot of his innovative structural solutions, that later would be characteristic of his organic style and would culminate in the Sagrada Familia.

The Casa Vicens is a modernist building located in the Calle de las Carolinas 18-24 (Gracia District). Work by Antoni Gaudí, it was his first relevant project after he got his degree as an architect in 1878. It was built between 1883 and 1888. When the Casa Vicens was built, Gracia was still independent to Barcelona with its own city hall, it was considered a village. Today it's part of Barcelona. This building belongs to Gaudí's orientalist era (1883 - 1888), period during which the architect built a series of works with an evident oriental taste, inspired by the art of the Middle East and the Far East (India, Persia and Japan), as well as the Islamic Hispanic art, mostly Mudejar and Nasrid styles. The building was declared an Official Asset of Cultural Interest the 24th of July 1969, and part of the World Heritage in 2005.

The Real Monasterio de Santa María de Pedralbes is a complex of monuments in Gothic style located in the city of Barcelona. The area of the monastery was originally walled. Nowadays, two watchtowers and two gates are the only part that remain of its walls.

The Palacio Real de Pedralbes is a building located in the middle of an extensive area of gardens in the district of Les Corts. Between 1924 and 1931, it was the residence of the Spanish Royal Family during their visit to the city. Today the palace remains closed to the public.

The Camp Nou is a sports venue property of the Fútbol Club Barcelona, Barcelona's soccer team, located in Les Corts district.

Barcelona Sants, or just Sants, is the main train station of Barcelona. It was inaugurated in 1979 after a long construction. It is the second main train station of Spain, just after Madrid-Atocha. Its long and middle distance rides, using both the classical train network and the high speed network, connect Barcelona with different national and international destinations. Sants concentrates most of the traffic of Cercanías of the city. In the station conflude the lines R1, R2, R3 and R4 of Cercanías Barcelona. The Bus Station located outside the station, just in front of it, shares the same name with the train station.

Woman and Bird, was the last big work by the multifaceted Joan Miró. This artwork was inaugurated in 1983 without the presence of its author because of his health issues. He died just a few months after it, at the age of 90. Woman and Bird, was one of the first expressions of public art in Barcelona during the democracy. Located in the Parque Joan Miró, next to a big artificial lake, the sculpture was made of concrete and counts with 22 meters of height. It represents the femenine silhouette with a hat and the bird can be found on the hat. The representation of the woman is solved by a hollowed out shape covered in black ceramics that reminds of the shape of the exterior of a woman's genitalia, in the author's language. The exterior of this sculpture is covered by red, yellow, green and blue colors (the artist's most common color palette) in trencadís (broken tile mosaics) and made by the ceramist Joan Gardy Artigas.

Barcelona's Plaza España is one of the most emblematic points of the city. It was built during the International Exposition of 1929, following a project by Puig i Cadafalch and Guillem Busquets. It was finished by Antoni Darder. It is an important center of the city's traffic from which you can acces to the area of Montjuïc, and where the Feria de Muestras and the Museo Nacional de Arte de Cataluña (MNAC) are located. Other relevant buildings in the square are the Centro Comercial Las Arenas (old bullring and actual mall, artwork in "neomudéjar" style, an Islamic inspired style), as well as the so-called Torres Venecianas, inspired by the famous belfry in Venice, built by Ramon Reventós for the International Exposition of 1929.

The towers to access the enclosure of the Exposition of 1929, known as "Torres Venecianas", are two twin ornamental towes, located at the intersection of Avenida de la Reina María Cristina with Plaza España. The name "Torres Venecianas" is due to their similarity with the belfry of Saint Mark in Venice. Built by Ramon Reventós as the access of the enclosure of the International Exposition in Barcelona; nowadays they work as the access to the enclosure of Montjuïc's Fira Barcelona.

The Magical Fountain of Montjuïc was built on the score of the International Exposition of 1929 by Carles Buïgas in the place where the Four Columns by Puig i Cadafalch were located. During the 80s, music was incorporated to the fountain's show, and just before the Olympic Games of 1992 in Barcelona they were totally restored. The fountain was also one of the external stages for the celebration of the MTV Europe Music Awards 2002. Since 2013, the Barcelona Campanadas (a New Years' Spanish tradition) are celebrated in this place.

The Pueblo Español is an outdoor architectural museum located in Montjuïc, close to the Magical Fountain. The enclosure contains 117 life-sized buildings that represent a typical Spanish village, with its streets, houses, squares, theatre, school, restaurants and artisanal workshops. It was built due to the International Exposition of 1929. At the beginning, it was planned that the enclosure would be built only for 6 months (the duration of the Exposition), but the success this place had allowed this place to remain complete to this day.

The Museo Nacional de Arte de Cataluña (MNAC) stands out thanks to its Romanesque Art collection, considered to be one of the most complete ones in the world. Also known as Palacio Nacional (National Palace), it was built for the International Exposition of 1929.

Olympic Ring, is the name of the space and group of sportive facilities located in Montjuïc receive, that were built or restored for the Barcelona 1992 Olympics. It has an aproximate area of 400 hectares.

The Palau Sant Jordi is a multifunctional pavilion on Montjuïc. It was built on the score of the Olympic Games of 1992, inaugurated in 1990. It is considered the gem of the so-called "Anillo Olímpico de Montjuïc", which also include facilities such as the Estadio Olímpico and the Pisicinas Picornell (Picornell Pools).

The Estadio Olímpico is a sports venue situated in Montjuïc. The original stadium was inaugurated the 20th May 1929 by Alfonso XIII, a day after the International Exposition. On the score of the Olympics of 1992, the stadium was rebuilt practically in its totality (1985-1989), being re-inaugurated 60 years later as "Estadio Olímpico" the 8th September 1989 by king Juan Carlos I. Designed by Barcelona based architect Pere Domènech i Roura, son of modernist architect Domènech i Montaner, it was projected to house future Olympics, that after aplying 4 times, would arrive to Barcelona 63 years later.

The Castillo de Montjuic is an old militar fortress located in the mountain of Montjuïc. Historically the castle has had an important role during different relevant chapters of the History of Barcelona.

The Jardins del Mirador del Alcalde are located in Montjuïc, in the Sants-Montjuïc District. They were elaborated between 1962 and 1969 by Joaquim Casamor, while the monumental fountain was made by Carles Buïgas. Next to this viewpoint we can find one of Montjuïc's cableway's stops.

Inaugurated the 22nd July 1999, the World Trade Center Barcelona is the iconic business park of the city. It's located at the maritime front, just a few minutes appart from the Center. It is a building with an original structure, inspired by the shape of a ship, work by the recognized architect Henry N. Cobb. It is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea. The arrangement of the four building that are part of the complex creates an spectacular central square with an area of 2.500 m². These 4 towers host different rental offices, the congress center and the Hotel Grand Marina, a 5 star hotel with 291 rooms.

The Columbus Monument is a scultoric complex located in the square Portal de la Paz in Barcelona. Built in honor of Christopher Colombus, it stands in the point of union between las Ramblas and the Paseo de Colón, in front of the old port of Barcelona. The monument was built during the context of improvement of the coastal part of the city on the score of the Universal Exposition of Barcelona of 1888. Inaugurated the 1st June 1888 during the Exposition, it quickly became one of the most characteristic icons of the city. On the inside of the column there is an elevator that allows you to go up to a half sphere situated below the feet of the statue, where you can view the city.

The Port Vell (Old Port) is the oldest part of the Port of Barcelona. It is where the artificial port of Barcelona was born, with more than 2000 years of tradition. It is separated from the sea thanks to a breakwater, until very recently one of the most popular leisure spots in the city Nowadays the facilities of the Port Vell, for instance the Muelle del Depósito and the Muelle de la Barceloneta, are used for sports boats. Also in the central part you can find a commercial area, known as the Maremagnum. There is a part of the port reserved for cruises too.

Maremagnum is shopping center, located in the Muelle de España in the Port Vell. It's centered around fashion and accessories shops and big national and international chains, as well as restaurant businesses. It's the only mall in Barcelona that is allowed to open the whole year due to its turistic location. It receives approximately 13 milion visitors annually, mostly turists.

The Paseo de Colón is an avenue in the Ciudad Vieja District, that runs parallel to the sea between the squares of Antonio López and Puerta de la Paz, where you will find the Colombus Monument.

The Barceloneta is a coastal neighborhood where the local people go to surf and to sunbathe on the Playa de Sant Sebastià, and to eat outdoors in seafood restaurants and traditional tapa bars. The dazzling leisure ports, such as the Port Olímpic complex, which is connected to the beach by a long promenade bordered with palm trees, are full of luxurious yachts. The Port's Cableway offers panoramic views of the city during the journey to the mountain of Montjuïc.

The Puerto Olímpico de Barcelona is a leisure port located in front of Villa Olímpica, between the beaches of Barceloneta and Nova Icària, in the San Martín district.

The Parque de la Ciudadela is a public park located in the district of Ciutat Vella. For many years it was the only public park in the city. It was built over the area where the old citadel, it was named Parque de la Ciudadela for this reason. It was designed using Paris' Luxembourg Gardens as a reference. It was designed by José Fontseré and inaugurated in 1881. A few years later, in 1888, the park hosted the Universal Exposition of Barcelona. It is situated in the neighborhood of la Ribera, in the triangle between the Estación de Francia, the Arco de Triunfo and the Villa Olímpica. In the park you can find the old Arsenal de la Ciudadela, that today works as the headquarters of the Parliament of Catalonia. It also has the Zoo of Barcelona. In this enclosure you will also find an extensive public art collection, an authentic outdoor sculpture museum.

The Arco de Triunfo is a monument located in the confluence between Paseo de Lluís de Companys, Paseo de San Juan and Ronda de San Pedro. It was designed by the architect José Vilaseca as the main entrance to the Universal Exposition of Barcelona of 1888. Unlike other triumphal archs which have a marked militar character, the Arco de Triunfo de Barcelona has a major civil component, characterized by the artistic, scientific and economic progress. The Arco de Triunfo has been used as the finish for some of the most important races of Barcelona, such as the Jean Bouin and the Barcelona Marathon. The monument was restored in 1989.

The Vía Layetana is a streets that communicates the Ensanche with the Port traversing Ciutat Vella. It received its name in honor of the first Iberian inhabitants of the area.

The Palacio de la Música Catalana is a music auditorium located at Calle Sant Pere més Alt in the Ribera neighborhood in Barcelona. It was projected by Domènech i Montaner, one of the greatest representatives of Catalan Modernism. Its construction was between 1905 and 1908, with advanced structural solutions and the appliance of great crystal walls and the integration of all of the arts: sculpture, mosaics, stained glasses and forge. In 1997 the Unesco included the building in its World Heritage list.

The Santa Iglesia Catedral Basílica Metropolitana de la Santa Cruz y Santa Eulalia is the Gothic Cathedral of Barcelona. The Cathedral was built between the XIIIth and XV Centuries over the old Romanesque cathedral, which was also built over a paleochristian basilica, remains of which can be seen in the underground of the Museo de Historia de la Ciudad. Its facade is more modern than the rest of the building (XIX Century) but it shares style with the totality of the Cathedral. This building is considered to be Asset of Cultural Interest and since the 2nd November 1929, National Artistic Historical Monument.

The Gothic Quarter is a district with charm that has many medieval alleys full of trendy bars, pubs and Catalan restaurants. The artisans sell leather goods and beading products next to the Cathedral, and flower stands and food can be found in the busy Rambla. At the Plaza del Pi, named this way thanks to its basilica, there is an art market every weekend.

The Born is a neighborhood known for its medieval streets. During the day, it is possible to enjoy coffee shops and designer boutiques, while cocktail bars and samba are the stars of the night. The Basilica of Santa Maria shows its ornamental stained glasses. In the famous Museo Picasso you can see many masterpieces by the artist.

The Church of Santa María del Mar is one of the main basilicas in Barcelona. It was built between 1329 and 1383. From the 3rd June 1931, it's considered Official Asset of Cultural Interest.

Las Ramblas is an iconic promenade of Barcelona between Plaza Cataluña and Port Vell. Las Ramblas are full of people during the whole day. You'll find kiosks, flower shops, street actors, coffee shops, restaurants and more. Close to the port you will also find markets, as well as painters and other artists. Walking through las Ramblas you will see many important buildings, such as the Palacio de la Virreina, as well as the famous market of la Boquería and El Liceo Theatre. One of the lateral streets leads to Plaza Real, a stunning square with palm trees and buildings with arcades that house lots of breweries and restaurants.
