Welcome to Nissa la Bella! Last city to become French, it has its own identity with its flag, its language (you will learn some typical expressions in Nissart) and its cuisine. We will cross the centuries and the different civilizations around sites more beautiful than the others. We will start with the old town, the heart of Nice and its narrow streets, its famous flower market with a thousand colors and perfumes, we will climb to the site of the old castle which protected the city in the Middle Ages. We will make a stop at the Russian Orthodox Saint Nicolas Cathedral which is one of the largest in Europe. Then we will end at the Roman site of Cemenelum. Today it is a park full of olive trees with Roman ruins and a coliseum where families from Nice come on Sundays to picnic and play pétanque. We will share a "traditional picnic" with local specialties with introduction to petanque.
