Torre di Porta Terra

The Tower was built in the 14th century, precisely in the medieval period, as part of the defensive walls of the city of Alghero. This is the only remaining part of the city walls on the land side, which were completely demolished after 1867. A good way to start our exploration

Chiesa di San Francesco

The church of San Francesco is one of the most significant examples of Gothic-Catalan architecture in Sardinia. Built by the Conventual Friars Minor at the end of the 15th century, the church stands on the site of a small chapel preceded by a vegetable garden. The building is part of a complex that also includes the convent, the cloister and the bell tower. Let's discover it's story!

Museo Archeologico della Citta di Alghero

The Archaeological Museum of Alghero, also commonly known as “Musa”, is located in a 15th-16th century building in the heart of the city’s historic center, next to the church of S. Michele. The museum’s collection includes finds that testify to the first human settlements in the area, from the Neolithic to the Middle Ages, discovered during excavations both inside and outside the urban center.

Alghero has always been known as the “City of Coral” for the tradition of working with red coral that dates back centuries. The museum celebrates and preserves this artisan tradition, showing the evolution of coral as an ornamental and symbolic material in the local culture.

Torre dell'Espero Rejal

The Sperone Tower takes its name from the presence of an adjacent rocky spur, which was part of the city’s network of fortifications. This tower is called by several names, one of which is Torre de l’Esperó Reial in Catalan.
