Alhambra
The Paseo de los Cipreses, following the Paseo de las Adelfas, is a path surrounded by cypresses that leads to the exit, built in the first third of the 20th century. On the occasion of the paving of the Paseo de los Nogales, a section of the Nasrid Acequia Real, near its entrance to the Alhambra through the water tower, has recently been discovered and made suitable for public visits.
Torre del agua
Rising majestically next to the Generalife, the Water Tower stands as a silent testament to the Alhambra's ingenious water management. Unlike its defensive companions, this tower did not seek to repel enemies, but rather to embrace a vital resource: the water of the Darro River.
Gate of the Seven Floors
On the walk along the outside of the Alhambra wall there are several towers and a gate: the Gate of the Seven Floors, one of the four exterior gates of the enclosure. This door gave access to the upper area of the Medina of the Alhambra, an area of the palace city with a fundamentally artisanal character. Built in the 14th century on a previous one, it was partially destroyed, like this entire sector of the wall, by the blowing up of Napoleonic troops in their retreat from the fortress in 1812. The door could be rebuilt in the sixties of the last century, thanks to the compilation of old engravings and photographs. The circular bastion located in front of it is the protagonist of one of Washington Irving's "Tales of the Alhambra".
Imagine a place where water flows in harmony with architecture, where the vibrant colors of flowers contrast with the serene whiteness of limestone, and where the breeze whispers stories of a glorious past. That place is the Generalife, the jewel in the crown of the Alhambra in Granada. A summer palace for the Nasrid sultans, today converted into an oasis of peace and beauty that will captivate you from the first moment.
Imagine a Renaissance palace perfectly integrated into the monumental complex of the Alhambra. A building that combines classical harmony with Arab majesty, creating a unique space full of charm. Walk through its circular patio, surrounded by two floors of arcades and crowned by an impressive dome. Admire the perfection of its proportions, the elegance of its details and the natural light that bathes the entire space. A patio that will transport you to another era and make you feel as if you were in an Italian palace.
Discover the majesty of the Alcazaba of the Alhambra, a medieval fortress that will transport you to the golden age of the Nasrid Kingdom. Walk through its imposing walls, which have withstood the passage of time and which speak to you of battles and conquests. Imagine the Nasrid warriors defending their home, protecting their people and their culture.
Imagine entering a palace where the light filters through Arab lattices, creating a play of shadows and colors that captivates the eye. Every corner of the Nasrid Palaces of the Alhambra transports you to a dream world, where architecture, decoration and history come together to create a unique and unforgettable sensory experience. Walk through its patios, full of light and freshness, where the crystal-clear water of the fountains invites you to relax. Admire the horseshoe arches, coffered ceilings and colorful tiles that decorate every corner. Imagine the daily life of the Nasrid sultans, their luxuries and pleasures, and feel the grandeur of this historical place.
