What to expect
Drive to Khustai National park, where animals roam freely in their protected natural habitat. The national park also serves as the home to the once extinct Przewalski horses, gazelle, red deer and many other animals.
Elsen Tasarkhai
After seeing the wild horses we continue driving to Elsen tasarkhai, which literally translates into “piece of desert”, desert that stretches for 80km. Before sunset we will go riding camels among the dunes and enjoy the beautiful sunset view.
We will drive through a beautiful refreshing green pine forest area, through mountains and over small rivers to reach the thermal hot spring. On this day, we will ride horses, visit local nomadic family. You may also enjoy short hikes in the area and relax in the natural thermal waters.
Our next destination - the ancient capital of Great Mongol Empire, Kharkhorin town. We will visit the Kharkhorum museum and Erdene Zuu Monastery, the oldest Buddhist temple built in 1585
The museum holds artifacts belonging to Stone Age, Bronze Age; findings from the four empires that once roamed the surrounding Orkhon Valley, including artifacts found from the Great Mongol Empire era.
Kharkhorin
On our way, we make a short stop at the Empire Walls, that illustrates the maps of the three greatest empires that existed on Mongolian land, Xiongnu empire, Great Mongol Empire and Turgik empire. The hill also offers a spectacular view of winding Orkhon river basin and the panoramic view of Kharkhorin town
The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
