    A pleasant short excursion into the foothills of the mountains surrounding Almaty. The walks covered about 5 miles in total. The path in one gorge involved crossing some shallow streams and a few bridges and steep stairs but not overly challenging. On the weekends the park and the trails are very popular. Nice to escape the city to an area under 1 hour away. The total time away was 4 hours.

    Our guide Gulmira was great. She had the experience and personal touch. The hike around Almaty lake was fantastic. Our driver drove safely through the mountains. The views were incredible. Lots of snow and high mountains. We stopped every so often to view the lovely waterfalls on the way back. We also paid a small extra for the additional falcon show which was great. It was a fun day and a must do in Almaty. Well worth it.

    It was an excellent experience of Almaty country. The mountains were so beatyful with the snow around the bright lake. The lady guide so helpful and polite. Thanks her a lot.

    I really enjoyed this trip to Big Almaty Lake and four waterfalls. It is a must-see, if you are in Almaty. The guide is very friendly and in good mood.

    We will visit Alma-Arasan gorge. Alma-Arasan is a mountain gorge located in south-west of Almaty. Located at an altitude of 1780 m on the northern slope of Ili Alatau. We will visit 2 gorge: Prohodnoe gorge and Ausai gorge. Our excursions are interesting because you will see beautiful Tien Shan mountains.
