    Our Amazon tour in Tapiri Floating Lodge was amazing! We travelled there in the middle of march and experienced four days packed with adventure, sightseeing and good company. Our main guide Marcus was the man with the plan. Such an awesome guy and rich of knowledge. Also as our guide we had Juan, which was the ultimate badass, being born and raised in the jungle. One of the best activities was our hike through the jungle and the constant knowledge sharing. Trees that walk through the jungle, seeds monkeys use as combs, tree sap which works as nature's paraffin and much, much more. The guides were also really patient with us regarding our wish to go look for animals. We saw dolphins, sloths, monkeys, Tucans, kaymans and many more. We also slept outdoors in the jungle one night which was somewhat scary, but the guides made us as safe as possible, arranging their hammocks on either side of the tourists'. Listening to sound of the jungle, the wall like thickness of it, and the smells. Incredible. In addition our accommodation at Tapiri Floating Lodge was really good. We fell in love the food, especially tasting Pirarucu for the first time. The air condition worked well, wifi was supreme and the bathroom was clean and tidy. The comfortable accommodation really mattered to be able to relax and get the most out of the adventures. All in all a perfect introduction to the jungle with awesome guides and great accommodation.     One of the biggest highlights of our entire South America trip was spending 4 days in the Amazon with Joshua’s expeditions. Our jungle guide, Toniel and captain João were the real deal. Toniel was born in the jungle, catches caiman with his bare hands and tells you campfire stories about his encounters with jaguars. Hearing about his way of life and getting to see his passion for the jungle was inspiring. Everything was super well organised and never felt rushed. Staying at Tapiri lodge was excellent. The food in camp and facilities were top notch with a diet of fish they catch daily from the same river you spend your days navigating. The family running it are super friendly and have some unusual pets, Felipe the caiman was our favourite. I’ll never get bored of sitting on the deck watching river dolphins jumping out of the water just outside your room. Could not recommend more highly.

    Firts of all, if you're planning to go to the Amazon rainforest, be aware that you need a trustworthy counterparty to book your trip. You don't want some random, non professional guide leading you throught the jungle! This is why we ABSOLUTELY reccomend Joshua and his team. Everything was excellent. The transfers, the lodge, our meals, our guide... We could't ask a more pleasant experience. If you're visiting Brazil, Joshua's tour in the Amazon is a must do.

    I am usually not writing reviews but I really enjoyed my time. First the guide Cobra (you cannot invent this one!) was outstanding, understood that we wanted a real experience, not touristic bs. As a native, he adapted and went out of the ordinary. The activities are very cool with a wow moment for each but 3-4 days is just the right time. The housing is comfortable enough, clean, with good showers and ACs. The food was surprisingly very good and all local. The team is very welcoming and helpful Only point,if you decide to sleep outside, it can be pretty hot so it is not that easy. All in all, warmly recommended and thanks again to the team.

    Absolut fantastisch.Wir hätten es uns nicht besser vorstellen können. Gute Organisation.Wir wurden vom Flughafen in das Hotel gebracht und von dort wieder abgeholt zur Lodge.Die Lodge war gepflegt und wir konnten es uns auf den Hängematten bequem machen.Das Essen war völlig gut und ausreichend aber das tollste war unser Guide (Osmar).Die Ausflüge waren ein wahrgewordener Traum!Wir haben Caimane (Aligator), Vogelspinnen, Faultiere, Affen, Delfine uvm gesehen. Besser hätte es nicht sein können!e couldn't have imagined it better. Good organization.We were taken from the airport to the hotel and picked up from there again to the lodge.The lodge was well maintained and we could make ourselves comfortable on the hammocks. The food was completely good and sufficient but the best was our guide (Osmar).The excursions were a dream come true! We have seen caimane (aligator), bird spiders, sloths, monkeys, dolphins and much more. It couldn't have been better!

    What to expect

    Meeting of Waters

    Our day starts at 7am when we pick you up from your hotel in Manaus. We head to the Ceasa Port where you will board a speedboat along the Rio Negro. As we navigate the waters, the first stop on the trip is the floating village of Catalão. Here we will visit a fish farm where you can see the Giant Arapaima Gigas, the largest scaled fish in the world. You will be able to feed them and feel how strong they are! After visiting the fish farm, we proceed by speedboat to the meeting of the waters. Here the Rio Negro and the Solimões River meet but don’t mix. Afterward, we continue along the river to the Careiro village. From there we will continue by road for about an hour to Maçarico lake. The final leg is by speedboat and you will arrive at the lodge at about 11:30 am. At noon, delicious local cuisine will be served for lunch.

    At 3:00 pm, we will head out on a canoe trip. On this trip, you’ll see the world-famous Amazon Pink River Dolphin, as well as an array of colorful birds. We’ll also get a chance to do some piranha fishing. We’ll stay out on the water until about 6:30 pm when we’ll watch the beautiful sunset, and at 7 pm we’ll return to the lodge for dinner. We head back on the waters at 8:30 pm in search of the fearsome Cayman. Your jungle guide will snatch a Cayman out of the water, allowing you to learn more about it up close, after which it’ll be carefully returned to its habitat.

    The second day of our trip starts early, at 5 am. We will depart from the lodge at 5:30 am on a motorized boat to a serene spot to watch the jungle waking up to a new sunrise. Afterward, we head back to the lodge for a hearty breakfast in preparation for our morning trek. During the walk, your jungle guide will share valuable knowledge about the Amazon. You will learn many interesting things, such as the medicinal plants of the Amazon, as well as all the insects that call it home. You’ll also have a chance to see many of the native wildlife, like cheeky monkeys! Once the trek has been completed, it’s back to the lodge for lunch.

    At 3 pm our afternoon activities start. We’ll take a canoe to Várzea forest, an area flooded with many small channels and waterways. You’ll get a unique perspective of the Amazon, learning much about the flora and fauna found here. During the dry season, this trip is done on foot since there is no water from August to March. This is a good area for spotting animals like monkeys, sloths, and some birds. When we finish, it’s back to the lodge for dinner.)

    Our day starts at 7 am when breakfast is served. At 8 am we’ll head out and visit a local family that lives along the river. You will learn about their simple, but wonderful way of life. You will see how they grow their own food and have the chance to taste local fruits. On the way back to the lodge, you will have the opportunity to swim in the river, having fun the way the local Amazonian people do.

    After lunch, at 3 pm, we leave the lodge to sleep out in the Amazon! Your guide will help you set up camp and prepare dinner in a remote part of the jungle. We will provide hammocks and mosquito nets. After dinner you will have the chance to do some spearfishing, then it’s back to camp for the night.

    In the jungle, you’ll have more opportunities to explore the magnificent Amazon Rainforest, either by trekking or canoeing. Your guide will teach you survival techniques and local knowledge related to the Amazon. Then we head back to the camp for breakfast and then get on the boat back to the lodge for lunch. At 1:00 pm we begin our journey back to Manaus with an arrival scheduled for 4:00 pm at your hotel or airport.
