The Anne Frank House is undoubtedly one of the most visited and well-known buildings in all of Amsterdam and the Netherlands. The historic building is where Anne Frank, a widely discussed Jewish victim of the Holocaust, hid with her family from Nazi persecution during the German occupation of the Netherlands in World War II. Anne Frank and her family hid for over two years at the rear of the 17th-century canal house in a part known as the Secret Annex. Although the tour does not go inside, it ends at Anne Frank’s House, where you can learn more about her story and visit the nearby statue created in her honor.
