What to expect
The tour will start at the indicated place, where we will be able to admire the magnificent neoclassical buildings of Panepistimiou Avenue. Among them are the Numismatic Museum, the Archaeological Company Building, the Catholic Church of St. Dionysius, the Athens Ophthalmological Hospital and the Central Bank of Greece building.
Plateia Syntagmatos
In Syntagma we will find the seat of the Hellenic parliament, and we will have time to watch the changing of the guard with its traditional soldiers.
Kallimármaro
We will also contemplate the Kalimarmaro stadium (known as the "good marble") from a panoramic view. This stadium was the site of the first edition of the Modern Olympic Games and is the only stadium in the world built entirely in white marble.
The Zappeion, the first building built specifically for the modern Olympic Games, is currently used for both official and private ceremonies and meetings.
Temple of Olympian Zeus
As we approach the end of our tour, we will pass by the Temple of Olympian Zeus, where the Roman Emperor Hadrian had a statue of himself erected next to the monumental 13-meter-high statue of Zeus, decorated with gold and ivory, in the image of the one sculpted by Phidias.
The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
