What to expect
Independence Brewing has served the independent thinkers and drinkers of Texas since 2004, making it the second oldest production brewery in Austin. Founded by Amy and Rob Cartwright, University of Texas at Austin alums who started their brewing career at Austin’s original brewpubs the Bitter End and Copper Tank, the couple’s small mom, pop and dog operation has grown to one of Texas’ largest craft breweries.

Beerburg Brewing
Beerburg Brewing was opened in January 2020 by Trevor Nearburg. Gino Guerrerro is the head brewer. Beerburg Brewing has a 10 bbl brewery and large taproom that sit on a beautiful 15-acre Hill Country spread in Dripping Springs. Trevor started Beerburg to create beers with a sense of place. All of Beerburg Brewing’s beer is brewed with domestic barley, sourced from the Texas Panhandle and Colorado. Their Wildcraft series feature ingredients strictly from Texas, usually grown on their property. They use malt from Texas, local well water, wild yeast, and hand-foraged local herbs in place of hops, which don’t grow well in the local climate.

In the Spring of 1992, Pierre Celis flew from Belgium to the United States to start a new brewery in the great state of Texas. No one suspected that he carried something very precious, concealed in his tube socks. It was the original yeast strain Pierre had been using to brew his world-famous Belgian-style Wit beer for the past 30 years. And there was no way he was going to brew without it. Celis brewery was reopened by Pierre’s daughter Christine in 2017, and their flagship beer, Celis White, is an Austin staple.

Family Business Beer Company was opened in January of 2018 by Gino Graul, Jensen Ackles, and Danneel Ackles. Head brewer Nate Seale develops clean and refreshing beers that you won’t want to miss. An iconic red pole barn design, amazing taproom, and “supernatural” outdoor space are equipped with enough picnic tables and shade trees for everyone. Grab a house-made pizza or pretzel with your pint as you listen to some live music under the Central Texas stars.
