Ballarat

The famous gold panning in the 19th century The ancient city of Ballarat is 113 kilometers away from downtown Melbourne. In this inconspicuous area, there used to be gold mines that the world was madly pursuing, so it got the reputation of "New Jinshan". The miners also left their souls and legends here. At Sovereign Hill, you can experience town life in the heyday of the gold rush in the 1850s, experience ancient gold mining, and relive the historical dreams of a hundred years ago. The town is full of surprises and interesting things, waiting for you to discover them all: panning for gold in beneficiation pots, exploring underground gold mines, watching how broken gold stones are turned into gold bars. Every building by the street, you can enter the house to find out, some are the old grandmother teaching the girls to embroider, some are the children listening to the teacher's earnest teaching, sometimes the police catch the thief on the street.
