    We visited the museum on the way back to the ferry at Cherbourg as needed to use up a few hours. After the visit we regretted not being able to spend some more time here. You could spend a lot longer. They issue iPads on arrival so you can scan points in the museum to find out additional info. These were excellent and our three children loved it. All 5 of us came out having learnt something about the area and its involvement in the d day landings and the airborne involvement. Excellent museum!

    An excellent museum that is informative and interactive. The plane effects are very good. Lots to see and do, well worth a visit.

    We went to several different museums in Normandy and this was definitely one of the best! Also, if you get a chance to be there during the D Day celebrations, be sure to get your ticket ahead so you don't have to wait in a long line and check out Camp Geronimo. It was the best encampment!!

    Great museum with very interesting story to tell about the airborne division and their role in D-Day, initialising the start of ending WW2. Different story compared to the events at the beaches. We spent almost 3 hours in the museum and the kids loved the interactive iPads which were offered to use free of charge.

    My son's favorite museum of the many we visited. It is very interactive and informative. We cannot wait to go back. The town around the museum is a great place for lunch.

    Airborne Museum

    In the building "Operation Neptune",  prepare to live the parachuting of June 6, 1944! Embark at night in a real C-47 plane in England, then land on the place of Sainte-Mère-Eglise in the middle of the fighting and take part in the battles that followed. A 20-minute film recounts with emotion the life under German occupation and the liberation of Sainte-Mère-Église and the Cotentin region. New this year, you will be able to go back in time with an Histopad! Thanks to the Augmented Reality, interactivity and hyper-realistic graphics of the Histopad tablet, you will be transported to the heart of Normandy in 1944 and experience the highlights of the D-Day. Immersion guaranteed! To witness the German occupation, to attend the landing of gliders, to manipulate weapons and equipment to understand how it works, to meet the destinies that have marked History ... all this is now possible thanks to high technology of Histopad!
