    I can't recommend this enough! Our gamesmasters Beth & Julia were excellent. It's a great and unique way to spend a couple of hours exploring Edinburgh (and learning about some of its dark history along the way).

    This was such a fun thing to do ! A lot of steps and satisfaction when solving each part of the puzzle. You need to keep up a pace though as your against the clock. Felt like indiana Jones 🤣

    A great way to spend an afternoon in Edinburgh. We got an augmented experience because a chap from the University of Edinburgh (Callum!) helped us out with the first clue and showed us some very cool stuff (including the old surgical theatre and some nifty bones) at the University of Edinburgh's Old Medical School. We went from there and saw A LOT of cool sites in Edinburgh. Fascinating and relaxing! I highly recommend!

    An absolutely great way to spend a sunny afternoon in Edinburgh. The whole experience was very high quality and lots of fun. A perfect challenge for a family with young teens, and the historical information was very interesting. Would highly recommend!

    A fantastic well thought outdoor escape room. My friend and I enjoyed the challenge and the experience of walking around Edinburgh, solving puzzles and unlocking padlocks on the secret box. It's a great day out seeing parts of Edinburgh you may not normally visit and being a detective for a couple of hours. Highly recommend.

    Our city trails are like outdoor escape rooms! A cross between a scavenger hunt, a treasure hunt, and a self-guided walking tour. Expertly researched and crafted, we combine technology with real locks, props and puzzles to deliver a fun, engaging experience that shines a light on Edinburgh’s dark past. 1. Gather your team at our central Edinburgh location to collect your satchel & learn about the trail ahead. You'll be advised of the latest time the satchel must be returned. 2. Follow the map to discover real locations from the story, solving escape room style puzzles en route. Allow about 2 hours and expect to cover about 4-5km. Feel free to stop for coffee or grab lunch en-route. 3. Solve the puzzles to complete the story. You'll need items from the satchel, information from the urban environment and a mobile phone with internet access. Return the satchel and claim your prize! Escape The Past are located at BF01, 25 Nicolson Square, just a 5 minute walk from the Royal Mile. The activity lasts approximately 2 hours and covers around 5km.
