Port : Douro River Cruise (2 h) – Wine & Scenic Views

We will admire the old fishing village “Afurada”, where small boats still leave towards the sea to catch and bring fish to be sold at the local market, for families. See the Afurada public washroom in operation, where it is still a tradition to wash clothes by hand, keeping the tradition alive.

We will appreciate the old Porto, whoever entered our Douro River (by nautical route) would certainly be approached for the appropriate commercial inspection. From where we can observe the “tower” it will be located in the garden of Palácio de Cristal, where the control/surveillance of vessels entering our Douro River was carried out.

One of the most emblematic points of interest in our city. Built between 1881 and 1886 by engineer Théophile Seyrig, disciple of Gustave Eiffel. We can see the foundations of the famous Pencil bridge (the first bridges to join Porto and Gaia) which is located next to the entrance deck of the Luís I bridge.

In the heart of the cities on the river, we can enjoy a glass of Port wine, a coffee or even a tea.

“from Ribeira to Foz” The Douro estuary, a stopping point for numerous migratory birds. In Foz, we can appreciate the construction of the houses where the first English families who came to Porto to produce Port Wine were located, its typical palm trees where unique species of green parrots live. We pass the Foz do Douro bar, feel the Atlantic Ocean, from where we can see the commercial port, the new cruise terminal and the entire seafront between Matosinhos and Foz with its small local beaches, embraced by rocks and sand.
