We booked a private tour with Hansa Tours during an unplanned short-notice stop-over in Bogota. After researching the reviews on Tripadvisor, also the concierge of the Hyatt Hotel encouraged us that Hansa Tours is the company to pick. We had limited time and bombarded our guide Juan Fernando with lots of requests and things to do and see. He was incredibly quick in capturing our interest, style, and pace and pieced together and adjusted on the fly as needed the best city tour ever! Never before have I experienced a guide that had such a deep knowledge from art, culture, architecture, technology, history, politics like Fernando. He was super-sharp with the right antennas on when to contribute his knowledge and when to keep quiet, unlike many guides that bombard you with their talk-track like a radio station. He structured around the time we had a visit to the gold museum while setting his own path through the museum different in order to the layout, however with a brilliant way to highlight the things that mattered. We stopped by the Bogota Biennale (he was very knowledgeable about each exhibit and it’s background), checked out some street art, and went to the Botero Museum. He was passionate about what he showed, authentic with his own opinion, but very patient at the same time. Juan Fernando is really an exceptional guide, and you can be lucky to have him show you his town!

I went with Juliana to Bogotá and I couldn’t see all this that I knew and understood thanks to the tour guide; Juliana. She knows bravely Colombian history and how art is part of Colombian identity. This is awesome!!
