The former Foreign Affairs Ministry headquarters, a building in early Romanian Modern architecture, today is the seat of the Romanian Gouverment. The square in front of the palace is one of the most important places were people is organizing its demonstrations.

Palace of Parliament

The most important symbol of Communist architecture and one of the largest buildings in the world, today is the seat of the Romanian Parliament and other government offices. In front of it stands a large square which is the continuing with a large and long boulevard with fountains, a Communist replica of the Champs Elysee in Paris.

Mitropolia

Metropolitan Church is the most important spiritual place of the Romanians and the head of the Christian Orthodox Church. Next to it is the Patriarchal Palace exhibiting religious art treasures and the seat of the Romanian Patriarch.

Old Town

It is the place were the city started to develop since 1459, when Bucharest was attested in a document signed by the famous ruling prince Vlad the Impaler, aka Dracula. Most of the buildings we see today were built 19-20 centuries when this was the most important commercial part of the city, with merchants from different parts of Europe. Now it is the most famous pedestrian area, were are the shops, restaurants, bars and the ruins of the Old Princely Court.

University's Square

It is the hard of the city, the cultural and the educational center of the city. Around this place is the building of Bucharest University, the National Theater, the oldest hospital - Coltea and other historic buildings from 19-20 centuries.

The Choral Temple

It is one of the three synagogues still existing in the city, the symbol of the former Jewish Community and a masterpiece of Moorish architecture from the 19 century.

Also known as the Spring Palace, this is the residence of the former Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceausescu and his family. It was built in a district dedicated to officials, using the best materials and techniques, the depth of the ornamental materials for the interiors and the beautiful gardens are meant to create a luxurious property of the so called the Golden Epoque.
