What to expect
The tour guide will pick you up at most hotels in central Tokyo. If your hotel is not listed, please let us know, and we might still be able to arrange a pick-up. After being picked up from your hotel in central Tokyo, you'll embark on an exciting ride on Japan's high-speed Shinkansen, also known as the Bullet Train, from Tokyo Station. The journey takes about 50 minutes. On a clear day, you might catch a stunning view of Mt. Fuji through the train windows, making the experience even more memorable.
MISHIMA STATION
We will get off the Bullet Train at Mishima Station, located in Shizuoka Prefecture. The city is known as a base for climbers of Mt. Fuji and visitors heading to Hakone. It is also famous for its rich spring water from Mt. Fuji. We will explore Shirataki Park and walk along the stream of crystal-clear water.
Mishima Taisha Shrine
Mishima Taisha is one of the oldest and most important Shinto shrines in the area, with a history spanning over 1,300 years. It was respected and admired by numerous samurai warlords, including Minamoto no Yoritomo, the founder of the Kamakura Shogunate government. You can enjoy a very tranquil and sacred atmosphere within the shrine precincts, and you will also learn how Shinto influences Japanese lifestyle and culture. Additionally, there is a deer park on the property where you can feed deer crackers to the resident deer.
After enjoying a Japanese-style lunch, we will visit Rakujuen Park, located next to Mishima Taisha Shrine. This municipal park features forests, ponds, streams, historical buildings, and a small amusement park and zoo for kids. You can explore the nature paths by the pond and walk inside the historical wooden building, which was once the residence of the imperial family.
Mishima
Finally, we will catch the bullet train departing Mishima Station at 2:00 pm and enjoy another pleasant Shinkansen ride back to Tokyo. Let's make the most of this comfortable, high-speed, high-tech train journey! After getting off the train, your guide will escort you back to your hotel.
The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
