What to expect
Haedong Yonggungsa Temple
It is the most beautiful temple in Korea and is located on the seaside. This place is also called the first great bright place in the East Sea. Haedong Yonggungsa Temple was originally founded in 1376 (the second year of King U of Goryeo).
Gwangalli Beach
The beach is famous nationwide for its high-quality sand from Geumnyeonsan Mountain, which is located behind the beach, and its crescent-shaped sand is famous for its unique atmosphere. There are restaurants around the beach, each with its own unique atmosphere, as well as over 300 raw fish restaurants, unique cafes, pubs. There is an outdoor stage at the beach, where various performances are always held, and there is a waterside park, beach park, youth training center, and marine sports center nearby.
The sea cable car station is located at Songdo Beach. Unlike cable cars that are usually found in mountainous areas, this one is located above Songdo Beach. Therefore, you can enjoy a different view from Gwangalli Beach with the bridge in the background.
Gamcheon Culture Village began as a difficult living space for refugees from the Korean War in 1950, and has preserved the history of Busan, a part of our nation’s modern history, to this day. It is a famous photo spot for many tourists because of its cute and colorful houses.
The bridge observatory in Cheongsapo is shaped like a blue dragon, a symbol of Cheongsapo Village, and is uniquely curved. The name ‘bridge’ is derived from the fact that the five rocks that line the Cheongsapo coast to the lighthouse resemble stepping stones. You can experience the thrill of walking on the sea through the transparent floor.
During the liberation and the Korean War, many people flocked to Busan and formed street vendors around the market to make a living. On the coast, there were shops and houses built of planks centered around the Busan Fish and Shellfish Processing Plant, and a market formed with street vendors. After the Korean War, Busan City reorganized the shantytown, built a building in 1969, and opened Jagalchi Market in 1970. Today, Jagalchi Market is a famous Busan attraction visited by many citizens and tourists.
After the liberation, One or two theaters were built in the Nampo-dong theater district, and by the 1960s, about 20 theaters had been densely built around BIFF Square. On September 13, 1996, the first Busan International Film Festival was held with the aim of creating a small but prestigious film festival, and the theater district was renovated and the area was named BIFF Square. BIFF Square was used as the main stage for BIFF events such as the Busan International Film Festival Eve event and the hand-printing event of famous filmmakers.
Haeundae Blue Line Park is a 4.8km section of the old Donghae Nambu Line railway facility from Haeundae Mipo to Cheongsapo to Songjeong, which was redeveloped in an eco-friendly manner. It is a key tourist facility in the Haeundae Tourism Special Zone of Busan, an international tourist city that operates the Haeundae Beach Train and Haeundae Sky Capsule along the beautiful coastal scenery.
