Cologne Zoological Garden

Adventure across the continents and explore the wild and wonderful animal world at Cologne Zoo. Boasting over 10,000 animals, it’s one of the largest zoos in Germany and offers a fun day out for all ages. From elephants and monkeys to birds of prey – not to mention an underwater collection – this is only the beginning of the zoo's animal family. Admire the Asian elephants and learn all about their growing family. There might be a baby wandering around too. The zoo’s Hippodom is like a scene from The Lion King where hippos, Nile crocodiles, antelopes and colourful birds call this area their home. If you like monkeys, you can see gorillas, orangutans and more at the Jungle House and the Baboon Rocks offers a glimpse into how these jumpy, playful creatives live and interact. At the Clemenshof farm area, you’ll find chickens, pigs, cows and sheep and if you want to get up and close, the Petting Zoo is open at the weekends. The Zoo doesn’t fall short when it comes to the underwater world. Dive into hidden depths at the Aquarium with over 70 different sections divided into geographical locations. If you want to experience the exotic, head to the Rainforest House, Madagascar House and enjoy the meerkats.
