    McCarthy's knows the island so well. They have relationships with many of the stops. My tour was about a week before the season started. The Railway Museum opened specifically for us after one call from McCarthy's. Skipper Ben's, where we had lunch, felt more like a friend's house than a restaurant. THE BEST cole slaw! More gorgeous views and wonderful history.

    Our driver and guide Larry was delightful. He was able to provide some history, which is essential to understanding what we we were seeing and to provide perspective. The sites were stark yet beautiful. Lunch was really good and the hosts wonderful. We returned to St. John’s and enjoyed a fish and chips dinner with live music which was great but we couldn’t think how much more fun it would have been with Larry there!

    This was a fantastic tour. Our guide Dave was so knowledgable and could answer all the questions we had. He had a lot of interesting stories and was very entertaining, he even played his squeeze box for the group. I especially loved visiting Brigus and Harbour Grace. The bus was comfortable and lunch was great and very accomodating to dietary needs.

    Wonderful full day tour with lots of stops and photo ops. Tour guide Larry was very informative and lots of fun. Delicious lunch at Skipper Bens. Great day out.
