You will be picked up from the hotel. After several minutes of travelling, we reach out a small neighborhood that contrasts with the big city since it is a quiet place where people get income from small businesses and agriculture activities. Continue driving in the middle of the parish town to access in a sinuous sandy road. See green pasturelands, burley fields, livestock and Andean Cowboys that begins their work day. All the way, you can enjoy the high mountains of the Eastern Andes. Antisana National Park is a haven for wildlife lovers, hikers, and those seeking stunning landscapes and challenging climbs.

They are also remarkable for their longevity, with some individuals living up to 79 years, according to some sources. The Andean condor is one of the largest flying birds in the world. Their massive wingspan allows them to glide effortlessly for long distances. They are masters of soaring, spending much of their flight time gliding without flapping their wings. Condors are known for their long lifespans. Andean condors are scavengers, feeding primarily on carrion, but they are also known to harass pumas after they make a kill, according to the Reserve. The male condor has a distinctive comb on its head, a feature the females lack. They are the national bird of Ecuador. They are protected and even considered a natural monument in some areas. Antisana Condor Observatory
Watch the Andean Condor in its natural habitat from the viewpoint that is located at the Isco Condor Sanctuary Observatory . Spot a great Andean scenery during the journey until you arrive in the lagoon entrance. Some wildlife could be spotted on the distance by the road. Start the walk along the trails near the lagoon to watch from the top the entire extension of the lacustrine complex, if weather allows, you can see the Colossus Antisana Volcano, the fourth highest pick in Ecuador Andes. If it is your lucky day, not only will you see Condors but you will also be able to see the famous Andean Spectacled Bear (Tremarctos ornatus). Our visit to this natural sanctuary helps preserve the Andean Condor.

Antisana National Park; Andea Ibis meadow and surrounding areas: During our stop at the Antisana Grassland, we may encounter one of the rarest birds, the Andean Ibis. Other species you may also see include the Cinereous Harrier (possibly observed along the way), Variable Hawk, Carunculated Caracara, Tawny Antpitta, Paramo Pipit, Ash-breasted Sierra Finch, Plain-capped Ground Tyrant, Chestnut-winged Cinclodes, and others. In this area is the Mica lagoon, which is a vital source of water for Quito.
The volcano was first visited by the naturalist explorer Alexander Von Humbolt in 1802. The volcano tops out 18,713 feet high being the fourth highest peak on the Middle of the World country. The last eruptive process occurred between 1590 to 1600. The area is dominated by the imposing Antisana Volcano, offering panoramic views and a dramatic backdrop to the landscapes. Tambo Condor
On the way back, we can take a break to have lunch at Tambo Condor. This place has a viewpoint from where you can see the Andean Condor's nest. At least 3 and 5 Condors can be seen from here. Also, there are feeders which are frequently visited by different species of hummingbirds such as the Shining Sunbeam, Giant Hummingbird or rarely the place is visited by the Black Tailed Trainbearer and the Andean-Tit spaintail. After this, we will return to Quito city.
