Excellent driver took us to the Damajaguas. The waterfalls were so much fun and so refreshing! We will try to come back when there is more rain. They have 7 falls open now, because it's been very low rainfall for the last 5 years. But all that we got to do was amazing! The photography service is excellent. They come along and focus on you all the way. We got the USB with over 100 photos and videos . Will post some once we are home with a computer.
Our driver was also excellent! Milton showed us and told us a lot about the Dominican culture. Would definitely do a tour with him, again!

It depends on what you’re looking for. The falls aren’t anything special to look at, but it is fun to jump/slide. Rather expensive for just the short, 3-falls experience, and very crowded, so most of your time will be walking uphill than waiting in line.
I would argue, however, that making it less expensive would invite more crowds, so it’s a trade off.
I can’t say enough good things about my “personal guide” Milton. As the first trip that I booked (all day safari) was canceled, this group, Milton in particular, came through at the last minute. He picked me up at the hotel and gave me a tour of the town of puerta plata, and some villages, stopped at the Amber museum and a cheese stand. I did have a good experience, though not really what I expected.
For reference- there is a changing area, lockers available to rent. Wear sturdy shoes because you’ll be hiking uphill for about 1.5 km, then walking on slippery stones. Drink plenty of water before you go, and they will give you another 500cc bottle for the walk. If you have a water proof cabrera, nor would be a good time to use it.

We had an absolute blast with our guide (he said his name was Chocolatte but I am certain I am misspelling it) and driver (Fernando I believe). We were running late from the ship but both of these gentlemen waited patiently for us. We had essentially our own private photographer/guide for the entire experience, which was great. Fair warning there are multiple groups going up the falls and through the canyon at any given time, so there will be some waiting, but out guide provided interesting tidbits about the plants and animals of the region. We got to jump off of two falls and a couple of slides, but to be frank just walking through the canyons in the waist deep water would have been enough for me. It was absolutely gorgeous. We were supposed to go to another site for our lunch, but that location had some issues with flooding. Luckily our guides pivoted to the cafeteria right by the falls, and even ensured that my partner and I had the largest bottle of Presidente beer I'd ever seen. After that we were taken to a nice (albeit touristy) area to see how coffee is ground and cigars are made. We got soem trickets (mamajuana and jewelry), and got to hang out with Parrots, Guinea pigs, and Tortoises. Great value in this esxcursion. Would highly recommend it!
