Meeting Point

At Farol da Guia. I will be waiting at the parking in front of the lighthouse (farol) and across the road from Repsol petrol station. Parking is free. Coordinates : 38°41'45.5"N 9°26'51.7"W. From there, we will walk down together to the climbing area. - FROM LISBON TO CASCAIS TRAIN STATION Get to Cais do Sodré train (and metro) station and take the train that connects Lisbon to Cascais. Get off at Cascais Station (last stop). *Tip: Sit on the side of the train with ocean views. The approximate journey time is 40 minutes and the ticket price is 2.25 EUR. Trains Lisboa-Cascais and vice-versa run every 20-30min and from 5:30 am to 1:30 am every day of the week. - FROM CASCAIS TRAIN STATION TO FAROL DA GUIA Once at Cascais train station take and uber (around 3.5€) or a taxi to Farol da Guia. Cascais bus station is just 2 min walking from train station. You could also take a bus to get to the meeting point (Bus company name: Scotturb. Bus nr 405, ask bus driver where to stop. Around 2,30€ and around 10min trip). If you feel full of energy (don´t get too tired before the climbing!!!;) ), you could go for the 40-45 min beautiful walk between Cascais train station and Farol da Guia.

What to expect

We will meet at Farol da Guia (Cascais) and we will walk down together to the crag. We will climb limestone cliffs over the Ocean in Cascais at an amazing spot with great views. First we will go through some basic theory for safe climbing, use of knots, materials and belaying and once we are ready we will start climbing! In Cascais there are rock climbing routes for all skills and levels. Your instructor will take you out there weather you are a beginner or a seasoned climber! WHAT TO BRING: Water, sun protector, comfortable clothes and footwear, hat/cap. You don´t need to bring any climbing gear. We provide helmet + climbing shoes + rope + harness + quickdraws + belay device. In order to ensure a safe climbing experience, the rock has to be dry. In case of bad weather (rain) we will be forced to change the dates of the experience. If the participants don't have availability on the new proposed dates we will cancel the experience and give a 100% refund. To make the most out of your day you can combine the climbing lesson with walking along beautiful cobbled streets in Cascais and swimming in its great beaches.
