    Not as close to etna as I was hoping, but somthing I would happily do again, Motocross goggles and a dust mask are a must and im disappointed they were not supplied, Otherwise a 5 star adventure.

    Would not recommend this tour to anyone be sue the third party tour operator was rude when we asked for a refund given we were not informed of the clothing requirements (mind you that day the volcano erupted). Viatour took no responsibility and now we need to dispute the charges with our credit card. We were truly looking forward to the tour and were let down when we were told by our hotel that we would need warm cloths such as a jacket, boots and googles and then I went online and validated with previous people who have done similar tours. The third pretty tour operator said we were informed in advance of the clothing requirements yet could not provide any proof of the email. DONNIT RECOMMEND.

    We had a great time, I would highly recommend this trip. We scheduled the Mt. Etna half day, we learned a lot about the volcano and was able to see many things during our adventure. Four wheeling was fun and we had a great guide. I would definitely plan this again when I return and will recommend to friends.

    What an experience!!! Really enjoyed it, and our guide - Alessandro - was excellent. Will definitely do it again. 4 hours just flew by!

    Now that’s what I call an excursion!!!! Amazing off road trip with Alesandro. This isn’t for the faint of heart. We did some serious off-roading and it was excellent. We had 14 people in our group ranging from ages 21 to 76 and everyone enjoyed it immensely. Our transportation was provided by way of a very nice, new, clean bus and our driver Nunzio was great. I highly recommend.

    Our tours start from Rifugio Ragabo, Linguaglossa - Etna Nord. The easiest way to get to us, is to drive to Linguaglossa. From here you take the street up to the Mount Etna (strada Mareneve). Follow this street for more less 20 minutes (13 km) and you find the Rifugio on your left hand. You can park here for free, there is enough space. Please arrive 10 minutes before the start of the tour.

Along old mountain trails where mules used to walk, you drive in the direction of the lava cave and lava tunnels. You will discover the cave and tunnels by foot. You will also visit Etna’s oldest pine tree: “Zappinazzu”. And go to a viewpoint from where you can see the sea and when the weather is good you can see Taormina! During the Etna excursion we ride to a maximum altitude of 1800 meters. Here you will be amazed by the power of the destruction of the Etna eruption of 2002, the last major eruption on the north side of the Etna volcano. Our recommendations: * Always bring a jacket, as it is cooler in the mountains. * Wear (sun)glasses to protect your eyes from dust. * Wear a scarf or neck gaiter to protect your mouth and nose from dust. * Dress in layers appropriate for the season. (If you wear shorts, you will feel more heat from the engine.)
