Muttrah Market is one of the oldest markets in the Sultanate of Oman and is located in the Muttrah area, the history of the establishment of this market dates back about two hundred years. The market cannot be seen from the outside, as it is a deep extension within the city, starting with a gate facing the Sea of Oman and the Muttrah Sea Road, and ending with another gate on the Old City from the side from which it receives visitors coming from most Omani villages and cities.
