Your Egyptologist guide will meet you at your Luxor hotel or Nile Cruise lobby to start your tour of the Luxor Museum. The museum opened in 1975, showcases an impressive collection of artifacts primarily from the Middle Kingdom (2055 BC - c. 1650 BC), including pieces from the Theban temples and necropolis. In 2004, the museum was expanded with the "Glory of Thebes" exhibit, which houses remarkable collections from the New Kingdom (1570 - 1050 BC), including two royal mummies of Ahmose I and Ramses I.
