Bamboo Train Battambang
Battambang Bamboo Train, mean norry or nori ( French word for lorry) is an improvised rail vehicle from Cambodia. Lonely Planet describes it as “Cambodia’s bamboo train”. Originally conceived as a logistical fix during the United Nations Transitional Authority of Cambodia period, the original “bamboo train” was a lorry system that operated on Cambodia’s rarely used northern rail line.
The Mrs. Bun Roeung's Ancient House is one of the 20 heritage Khmer houses in Vat Kor village that is around 100 years old and is made entirely from hardwood. The old-style house has a wide veranda, vintage furniture and lightings and personal items belonging to the owners. The house is currently occupied but you can get a tour of the place and if you are looking for a place to stay, do make inquiries regarding the guest house located on the site. The owners have maintained a few vintage décor items and traditional everyday tools and equipment that use simple mechanism. The old construction consists of a raised floor that can be accessed by a staircase and is surrounded by a small orchard that has fruit plants. The place does take you to a much simpler time. If you love rustic places with a lot of soul and heart, a walk here will be mesmerizing!
Adapts the architecture of mid 11th century and the end of 12th century the temple was first built by king, Ut Tak Yea Tit Tya Varman II (1050-1066) and then was finally built by the king, Jarvarman VII (1181-1219). The temple is located on the top of approximate 400-meter heighten mountain at Kon Tey 2 commune, Ba Nan District in 25-kilometer distance from the provincial town by the provincial Road No 155 parallel to Sang Ke River. At the mountain's valley, there are Ku Teuk and two main natural wells, namely: Bit Meas and Chhung or Chhung Achey.
DescriptionWat Ek Phnom is an angkorian temple located on the left side of the Sangkae River at the small creek of Prek Daun Taev northwest the G Peam Aek spot approximately 9 km north of the city of Battambang in north western Cambodia. It is a Hindu temple built in the 11th century under the rule of king Suryavarman
DescriptionThe killing caves of Phnom Sampeau are a Khmer Rouge execution site on Phnom Sampeau, a hill 7 mi southwest of Battambang in western Cambodia. The Khmer Rouge killed their victims on top of the cave at the rim of a daylight shaft or ceiling hole and then threw the dead body into the cave.
JUST DOWN THE ROAD FROM the Killing Caves of Phnom Sampeau, visitors gather at sundown for an incredible spectacle of nature: the nightly exodus of a gargantuan colony of hungry wrinkle-lipped free-tailed bats. Most spectators convene at the bars and stalls on the side of the road, where food and drinks (and cover) are available. But for those wanting a more intimate experience, you can have a local guide lead you up the hidden path to the mouth of the cave.
The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
