What to expect
It was a “no man’s land” during the Battle of Gettysburg. Civilians on lower Baltimore Street and Steinwehr Avenue were trapped in the crossfire between Union and Confederate troops. On this tour you will hear about the tragic death of Jennie Wade, how civilians survived the battle, the fighting between the two sides in the streets, the aftermath of the battle, presidential visits, and some of Gettysburg’s early history. This tour complements the 11:00 a.m. tour (Civilian Experience). This tour covers the Southern End of town; the Civilian Experience covers the Northern End.
The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
