    A day well spent. David delivered a masterful presentation of artefacts and their relevance to the Bible, spiced with wit, humour and more insider details than you can shake a Sargonid spear at. Did the extended tour (with Persia & Babylon) and every moment was wonderful. Absolutely recommended!

    Our visit to the British Museum was nothing short of enlightening. With my wife and four kids, we delved into the histories of the Caesars, Greece, and Persia, all through the lens of the Bible. The connections between these ancient civilizations and the scriptures were fascinating, making the artifacts and exhibits come alive in a whole new way. On a subsequent visit, I returned to the museum alone, joining David and a small group to explore the sections on Assyria and Egypt. This focused tour deepened my understanding of these ancient cultures and their significance in biblical history. Both visits offered rich, educational experiences that left me with a profound appreciation for the intersections of history, faith, and art. Highly recommend for anyone looking to explore the Bible's historical context! During our tour of the British Museum, we came across an incredible piece of history that brought the story of Jonah and Nineveh to life. David pointed out a depiction of the king of Nineveh with a fish on his head, a symbol of the "fish people" that the Assyrians believed in. This fascinating detail added new depth to the story of Jonah. As the story goes, when Jonah was swallowed by the great fish and later emerged, the people of Nineveh would have recognized the smell of the sea and the acid-bleached skin as signs of someone who had been touched by the divine. Their familiarity with these "fish people" made Jonah's warning more credible, leading them to heed his message of repentance. This anecdote was a powerful reminder of how ancient beliefs and symbols can provide deeper insight into the biblical narratives we know so well. It made the story of Jonah all the more vivid and real for us.

    It is an amazing museum, and having David as our guide made the visit to the museum one of my favorite things I did while in London. David has a lot knowledge about the bible, history and the things we saw in the museum. Everybody will benefit of this guided visit!

    The half day Bible study tour is an excellent tour led by David, a very knowledgeable and personable guide . David will guide you through the museum to view all of the artifacts related to the major old and new testament biblical periods. He answers all questions and also asks many questions to test your Bible knowledge. This tour will bring the scriptures to life as you are able to see authentic relics and be given additional information to enhance your experience. This tour will save you plenty of time trying to locate the various exhibits since the museum is very large. I highly recommend David and this tour.

    Wonderful tour! And so unique. We saw the Elgin marbles and the Rosetta stone, etc, but to hear about it from a Biblical perspective was so special. David is a wonderful storyteller, and clearly knows his material! wonderful tour for our family of 3 teens and 2 adults. David did a wonderful job bringing the Bible to life,’in such a way as to give us all a more tangible touch to the Word of God. On top of that, our schedule was inflexible, but David so kindly worked around our schedule and still delivered! Great tour!

    The British Museum

    We start with the Assyrian, Egyptian and Greek galleries on the ground floor. We'll see 40-ton Assyrian lamassu beasts, statues of famous pharaohs and the Parthenon temple sculptures of Athens. We elbow our way to the front of the famous Rosetta stone and talk about its importance to history. After a break, we go upstairs to see the Egyptian, Mesopotamian, Babylonian, Persian, Greek and Roman galleries as time allows and your preference dictates. We'll look at Roman emperors, Persian tableware and drinkware that Esther and Nehemiah would have been familiar with, Egyptian mummies and a game that Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and Joseph would have played. We'll examine some weights that Daniel may have had in mind when he interpreted the handwriting on the wall for King Belshazzar. Some of the Biblical people we'll discuss: Egypt: Joseph, Moses, Abraham; Assyria: Jonah, Ahab, Hezekiah; Babylon: Daniel; Persia: Queen Esther, Nehemiah; Rome: Jesus; Greek: Paul
