This was one of the most amazing experiences of our trip when we went early in the morning with our excellent guide into Livingstone Park which was alive with bird life . We saw so many birds that we had never encountered before on our African excursions and our guide, Friday, had so much knowledge it was incredible ! Never having been on a birding expedition - and really having very little interest in birds - I was totally unprepared for the beauty of this safari. Touring along in a motorboat on the Zambezi and seeing pods of hippos sinking and surfacing, and the BEAUTIFUL African birds and water creatures was a delightful surprise!
The high point of the excursion was the exquisite meal that was spread before us on a sandy beach, pulled out of coolers and cupboards on board! Sitting on camp chairs next to the water where we could hear birds and other African wildlife all around us, we enjoyed EVERY aspect of the outing! It was so sad to pack up and leave such a charming spot!

Great morning bird watching only downside was I got my lens soaked the day before at Vic Falls so it wouldn't work. The trip was excellent, the guides and guard could not have been more friendly and knowledgeable, the 3 hours went by in a flash , another trip I will do again and that time I'll make sure the lens is dry.
Again a shout out to the guides, superb guys all round

We worked with Steve and Connie at African Safari Experience and booked both the walking bird tour and the birding boat cruise. These were two wonderful experiences, Arnold was a fantastic guide, and I got 50 life birds on the two trips combined !!! Along the way we also saw hippos, giraffes, monkeys, antelope and more. Snacks and drinks were included.
The variety and abundance of birds, The guides’ encyclopedic knowledge and infectious enthusiasm all combined to make both of these more than I could have asked for.
African Safari Experience dealt with all logistics including pick up and drop off door to door from/to our hotel.

We had to get up very early for this trip in order to have the best chances at seeing a lot of different birds. Arnold is so very good at spotting birds, it's unbelievable! Many times he pointed out birds to us that we would have missed otherwise. Even just hearing the sound of a bird he can tell you the species. During our walk in the park we were joint by a ranger with a gun that could protect us if necessary.
We saw a lot of different birds and made some great pictures. The park has such a variety of species and the birds are so colorful sometimes! Highly recommend!

Pickup
Check if pick-up is available from your location, you will select during checkout (providers may allow other pickup locations)
We pick up the Clients - minimum 2 people - from their Hotel/Lodge and take them into the National Park in our high level Game Drive vehicle for the Birding Safari then drop the Clients back to their accomodation afterwards. Free pick up and drop back is only within Livingstone , Zambia or at the Zambia Immigration point Border after you have crossed the Bridge from Zimbabwe and stamped into Zambia.
