    Our tour with El Gecko started from the ferry ride from Puntarenas. The location was easy to find with Google Maps, and located on a beautiful beach where you could park and enjoy before and after the tour. Juan and his crew were fantastic. Language was an issue as we spoke no Spanish and they spoke little English, but they were very patient with us and we made do! We had a beautiful tour of the area by boat, and then stopped around a rocky outcropping to snorkel. In the area there were many other tour groups, but we were a good distance away from them and it wasn’t an issue. The water was murky, but there was still a lot to see. One of the guides even came out with us for a bit and ensured we saw lots. In addition to the schools of fish, we saw sea urchins, a starfish, and a blowfish. And when my husband mentioned an interest in another type of sea creature, they went out of their way to show us where they could be found. We passed a larger, more public beach, but after the snorkeling, Juan brought us to a private beach which was a paradise. While they prepared the lunch, my daughter lied on the beach and my son explored the rocks while my husband and I took a long walk. It was quite simply amazing. Lunch was delicious! At the end of the tour, we stayed at the first beach for a bit while we played in the waves. All in all it was an amazing experience and I highly recommend El Gecko!

    I was disappointed in the snorkeling. So few fish, however seeing the baby boar who hung out with us for quite a while was a wonderful experience!

    Such a perfect experience! Juan was so friendly and helpful, and we all had so much fun :) it was absolutely magical to see the crystal clear waters and get to see some fun fish (and starfish!) while snorkeling. The smaller beach that we went to was definitely better than the bigger one that other tours go to, but we were able to swim back and forth for a bit of adventure (he also offered to drop us off over there via boat). So grateful that we got to spend the day there - and it was so convenient from Paquera! Thank you!!

    My family and I had a blast! Our guide Juan was friendly and informative. We had a private tour which was lovely. Isla Tortuga is absolutely beautiful! We had the section of the island to ourselves and it was perfect! We were provided sandwiches and fresh fruit and beverages. We saw iguanas and a baby boar. Sadly no monkeys this trip but it was likely due to time of day. Regardless, the tour was a ton of fun!

    This was a brilliant tour company. Much smaller than other trips we saw. The boat was plenty big enough (10people on our trip). X2 snoring site (NB the snoring areas are busy with loads of boats in small areas suitable for snorkelling. Plenty of fish to see. Water visibility on day we went was not great, but still managed to see loads of beautiful fish. Picnic lunch on the Isla was lovely. Delicious sandwich and freshly prepared fruit. We were dropped off on the quieter beach (playa Tropical) rather than the busy main beach, which was great. Guides were helpful and friendly. I would thoroughly recommend.

    We will start our day from Playa 'Los Órganos' in Paquera at 9am to 2.30pm or 12pm to 4pm, with a pleasant boat ride of approximately 20 minutes. On the way to Tortuga Island, you will enjoy the beautiful coast along with some marine life. We will pass Playa Quesera, then going with the boat through the hole in the rock called Arco Iris. After this we will go to the group of Islands called Morteros for snorkeling. The volcanic rock reef is surrounded by crystal clear waters and is famous for the large number of goldfish and some corals. On the Pacific coast of Costa Rica there are not many hard corals, but many fish and shellfish that keep their attention. You can see, for example, angelfish, porcupine, morays, needle fish, spotted eagle rays and many more tropical beauties that will make it a great snorkeling experience. Changing the snorkeling mask for the sunglasses again, we go to the island itself, where we will visit Playa Tropical, where you can enjoy a swim in the warm waters, stroll along the sugary white sand beach, walk along the path to the top of the island or relax in the shade of a palm tree swaying. Here we will serve you some fresh fruits and drinks.
